{ ARTIST INSPIRATION }
most of my inspiration comes from retro or ultra-modern interiors and furniture. i typically generate a shape, a curve or an object mentally, after meticulously browsing through magazines or online interior ads/sites. with this metal image, i can evolve a unique creation of energetic flowing lines accompanied with vibrant colors or reflection which ultimately i bring to the foreground when the grinder meets the metal. schooling in fine art and metallurgical engineering give my artwork a synergistic advantage, offering both creative innovation and physical integrity. the sculptures that i make are all hand made originals or part of a signature series set created solely in my cincinnati studio. every sculpture comes signed and dated for authenticity.
as a self representing artist, i offer unique hand made original and signature series metal sculptures for the modern decorator. my endeavors began in 2003 while working for the united stated air force. at that time i started experimenting with bending, cutting and grinding decorative aluminum panels after designing and building an experimental electro-polishing fixture. as time persisted i began developing wall art on the weekends, occasionally selling them through online auctions. as the popularity and demand for my sculptures grew i began expanding my capabilities and offerings. this website is an advertising extension of my work, providing a portion of my sculptures and capabilities to you on a real time basis.
the nicholas yust fine metal art business consists of a design and fabrication studio which also facilitates the photography, packaging, worldwide shipping and gallery display of my artwork. in 2010 my facility was expanded from 1200 to over 3500 square feet of modern industrial work space. to accentuate my ultra modern artwork style, I designed the new building with contemporary minimalistic architecture.
